Solvay is an international chemical and advanced materials company based in Brussels, Belgium and Publicly owned. They are established throughout the globe, with 145 sites and 21 R&I centers. They have been in Singapore for 30 years and more than 200 employees.
The design brief given was to create within the existing office, a “Creative Zone”. This zone will enable people to connect and collaborate amongst the departments. The functions are: Collaboration / Breakout / Town Hall / Brainstorming.
The Goal was to create a new area that will foster socialization and collaboration. This was part of a Change Management Strategy on Solvay. Hence, we decided to focus on employee’s engagement to increase their workplace satisfaction. The design concept that we embarked on was to ‘energise’ the space; thereby, get people ready to generate innovative ideas, new strategies and make meaningful progress for the company.
In order to Inspire, empower, listen and appreciate the employee’s contribution, we wanted to give them a flexible place, where they could have a break, meet for a Digital Presentation, get some privacy or attend a Town Hall meeting. By providing them with more options to choose on how to do their work, the space that we create allows them to have more control over their work experience.
